Susan B. Haight is elected new Village President

Foggy Bottom West End Village elected new officers at its annual meeting on May 13. Susan B. Haight was elected President for a three-year term. Susan is founder and principal consultant of Retail Connections®, and serves as President of the West End Library Friends. Haight succeeds the Rev. Monroe Wright who will remain on the Village Board.
“I have lived in the Foggy Bottom West End neighborhood for the past twelve years and appreciate its progressive nature, where neighbors help neighbors,” Susan said. “I plan to live here for the next twelve years and believe the Village will help strengthen this well-established culture of lending a helping hand.”
Mary Bernstein, a retired human resources director, is the new Vice President. John Seichter, is Village Secretary. John, a retired attorney, also volunteers as a sous chef at Miriam’s Kitchen, a meals and social services programs serving the chronically homeless. Rebecca Coder is the new Village Treasurer. She is a member of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2A, which serves Foggy Bottom and the West End. She oversees market and product development for the National Cooperative Bank.

In addition, we would very much like to thank past President Monroe Wright and outgoing Secretary Jackie Lemire for their dedicated service during the past two years of the Village’s formation. Other Board Members who have been working diligently to bring the Village to fruition are Myrna Fawcett, Lorna Grenadier, Beverly Gyllenhaal, Carl Vacketta and C.B. Wooldridge.
