Everyone has “stuff,” and FBWEV members are of the generation that may have more than most.
On April 18th professional organizer Mary K. Malmberg spoke to members and presented helpful steps to start organizing one’s “ stuff. ” She suggested questions to ask oneself when deciding what to do with the many things of great and not so great value.
Mary, owner of Mary Pops in Organizing, is a professional organizer who specializes in helping seniors in transition. She is the Vice President of the DC area National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and had many helpful suggestions such as devote ten minutes a day to sorting, but start now, asking relatives if they want some items that one treasures, and if not, why not use them or get rid of them? Since the story of the item is really what is important, record that and move on. Mary handed out a list of tips for getting organized and staying that way which members took to heart.
